Hi Geoffrey
Thanks for your message.
Sorry to say that I have no idea what the shop next door to the Rocking Horse.
I’d really like to know myself, just from the historical point of view.
All the Best
Nick
I think unit 23 used to be the three cooks bakery back in the day, it used to be a regional chain of bakers around the midlands. Think it closed before 2010. If you search for images on what the three cooks used to look like, their shop frontage is similar to what unit 23 is. I do remember going to this branch of three cooks as a child
That’s for that information, I certainly cant remember the Three Cooks at all.
Looking back even further, the Kelly’s directory of 1969, indicates that Units 22/23 were occupied by Calland & Holtom, home furnishers. Margeret Hall was next door at unit 24.
I’ll look into the Three Cooks and see what I can find.
Anyone remember the old shop next to the rocking horse?
